AI development internship

ABOUT THE ROLE

Everyday around the world people go blind for not having access to an eye specialist. Our technology brings eye screening to primary care, a paradigm shift needed to end preventable blindness. We have developed deep learning solutions for screening all major causes of preventable blindness. This is seamlessly incorporated into our portable and affordable retinal camera. We are now pushing the technology even further. We are training AI solutions to screen for non-retinal complications in retina images, such as cardiovascular risk, chronic kidney disease or cataract.

 

This is a unique opportunity to own a Deep Learning MedTech project from beginning to end. You will be responsible for defining an implementation strategy after the literature review, implementing the strategy in consultation with medical experts and assisting in the deployment and validation of the solution.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

·        Fluent in Python

·        Good understanding of the basics of Machine learning with some practical experience

·        Previous experience with Convolutional Neural Networks is an advantage

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

·        Excellent analytical and logical reasoning

·        Quick self-learning

·        Strong motivation to learn new concepts

·        Strong sense of ownership

·        Ability to work independently without heavy handholding

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Do a literature review

·        Inspect and curate a dataset, mostly in collaboration with a clinical partner

·        Draft a strategy for designing and training a deep learning pipeline

·        Train the neural networks through hyper-parameter and data tuning

·        Assess readiness for deployment
